Please join us for the official launch of our first publication. More than three years after the initial 'experiment' at APT, it has definitely been a labour of love, so we’re more than ready to celebrate the result.
No speeches, no readings – it’s really not that sort of book – just an opportunity for relaxed conversation with the authors and (some) contributors, and a sneaky preview of the next publication, which documents our collaboration with Lincoln-based artist collective General Practice. (Lincoln Arts Centre Gallery, February 2025)
AUTHORS / PROJECT LEADS: Lucy Renton & Sue Withers
CONTRIBUTORS: Ali Darke, Eric Great-Rex, Andrew Bracey, Andrew Moller & Rob Flint
Toil & Trouble: How We Find Out Who We Are (Volume I / APT Gallery)
This publication concludes the first iteration of our artist-led curatorial project which considers the exhibition as a site of research, and collaboration as a method to explore how meaning is constructed. It comprehensively documents the initial ‘experiment’ at APT (London, 2022) and includes photographs of the exhibition by Andrew Moller, a reflective essay by Andrew Bracey (the chair of our public discussion) and a specially commissioned artwork by Rob Flint – ‘Is An Artist’. All copies available at the launch will include an additional poster version of this found text artwork.
BOOK LAUNCH, SATURDAY 18 APRIL, 2026. 14.00-16.30
